Chris Christian Bea Lewanduski have been elected to serve as at-large representatives on the association's Board of Directors. They will begin two-year terms of service immediately following the 2020 NFDA Virtual International Convention & Expo.

More than half of funeral directors have experienced increased cremation rates due to the coronavirus pandemic, according to the 2020 NFDA Cremation and Burial Report. 

Out of concern for the well-being of funeral professionals, exhibitors and association staff, NFDA has canceled its in-person 2020 International Convention & Expo New Orleans. NFDA will instead hold its first-ever virtual convention the week of October 18.

NFDA looks forward to welcoming the funeral profession’s state and national leaders to the 2020 Leadership Conference (August 2-5, elmond Charleston Place in Charleston, S.C.). For the first time, NFDA is giving attendees two ways for attendees to attend this dynamic event, offering both in-person and virtual conference options. 

NFDA will host its first live, virtual Cremation Certification Program June 9 and 10. Since its launch in September 2013, NFDA’s Cremation Certification Program has become the recognized certification standard for funeral service professionals.

NFDA is pleased to announce the following individuals have been elected by acclamation to serve as officers on the 2020-21 Board of Directors: President-elect Jack Mitchell; Treasurer Dutch Nie; and Secretary Christopher Robinson. The Board of Directors will be led by President Randy Anderson.
